Everyday A Different Song

Everyone has their own way to keep themselves from thinking or feeling a certain way and mine is music. It’s always there for me to rely on for which ever mood I’m in and today City and Colour’s “The Girl” is the song for me.

D V A S

The Toronto but really Edmonton based band DVAS has been blasting on my ipod for awhile now due to my friend Peter who exposed me to them. It’s the kind of genre I’ve been diggin the past year; the nu discoy sound that makes you get off ass and dance! They will be in Edmonton on October 10th at the Pawn Shop and honestly for $10 you cannot go wrong… Here is their single “Society” off their latests album.

Marvin Gaye Of Our Time

Thus far one of my favourite albums in 2010 is Aloe Blacc’s “Good Things” album that released yesterday. His voice is soo soulful and with the instruments backing him up in his songs is refreshing to hear. I do recommended everyone to get this album ASAP! Here is a live studio performance of “Loving You is Killing Me” which is a single off his album.

Let’s Have A Toast…

This song is just soo good beat wise with Kanye using a MPC to create it and along side with a hilarious hook of “Let’s have a toast for the douche bags, let’s have a toast for the assholes…” This song makes me abit excited for his new album that is planning to drop next month.

This is how real music should be… soulful, meaningful, and most importantly positive. This is kind of music I like to listen to whenever I feel down and out. ENJOY the smooth beats/vocals from Slakah The Beatchild

The Legend Of Mr. Rager

One of the albums I’m waiting to drop this Fall is Kid Cudi Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager. Cudi’s first album kept me through the winter last year & I’m still bumping it to this day. These two tracks “REVOFEV” & “Erase Me” coming off his new album are already stuck in my head… I can’t wait to hear the rest!

Kid Cudi - REVOFEV

Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West - Erase Me

Groovy Beats

I only listen to a selected amount of electronica/dance DJ’s and one of them is Treasure Fingers from Fool’s Gold Records. He recently played in San Francisco at the Temple and a radio station did a recording of his 70min set… trust me you need to give it a listen!
