This Thursday at The Common there will be an Photography Art Show that will showcase several photographers that took their interpretation on “Scenic Edmonton”. Edmonton scenery to me is bright yellow canola fields with bright blue skies, grassy hills with purply/orangy/red sunset skies, and busily tree branches with dark grey clouds. I portrayed these within three photographs on 20 x 40 landscape canvas prints; which two are used for the posters for The Common parties this weekend. Tomorrow night will be THEE night at The Common because it will be a battle between the Foosh staff and the Haven staff… through MUSIC! This night is going to be an iPod battle which each staff member will load up their iPods and pick several songs for each round. Each round will be determined by crowd response during and after the rounds SOOO come out, drink, dance, and cheer on your favourite shop!

This past weekend at The Common was the Foosh, Bamboo Ballroom, & Plush staff party which was a GONG SHOW. Good times were had with everyone eating food, smoozing with each other, and of course getting ridiculiously DRUNK. It got soo good in the middle of the night that a bunch of us were shot gunning Pilsner cans in the back… ohh good times! I honestly have not had this much fun in awhile, LOVE my extended family! Once again there was fun times to be had at The Common this past friday. This night was especially fun because it was Allout DJ’s mix release along side with my brothers birthday. When I walked in I saw soo many familiar faces from the past and present… it was good to catch up with everyone that night, it was even better drinking along side them once again as well! Everyone was good and drunk enjoying the music to the fullest. This is not one night that I don’t have fun at The Common and if you have not gone yet I do recommend going! THANK YOU to everyone who came out for The Common’s First Birthday last Sunday. It was good to see all of the familiar faces that have been supporting the spot since DAY ONE and trust me we are all grateful for all of you! The night was filled with dancing, champagne flowing, great conversations, and an overall good times all night long. If you missed out here are some images I took during the night!

Come celebrate the first birthday of The Common tonight! There will be a private party between 7pm - 9pm for our loyal partiers of The Common throughout the year and then after 9pm everyone can join in to PARTY it down all night long! All the resident DJ’s will be spinning tonight: Allout DJ’s, DJ $hortee, Dane Gretzky, Bob Trampoline, DJ Sonny Grimezz, & Bron. There will be complimentary food and give aways from Foosh & Bamboo Ballroom throughout the night. No cover all night long BUT very LIMITED CAPACITY! as you should know by now I will of course be taking photos all night long soo hopefully I see EVERYONE out tonight!

On Friday night at The Common we had a huge going away party for Justine. It was a fun night catching up with old friends while getting down on the dance floor. Good vibes as always with friends/family! Drinks pouring, people dancing, music blasting, & me lurking with my camera… good night overal. Tonight at The Common we are saying farewell to Justine (Justeezy)… yes our beloved lady is moving to Victoria & I nothing says goodbye like drinking/dancing all night long. Allout DJ’s, DJ Sonny Grimezz, & DJ Twist will be on the tables spinning the freshest tunes to get your rump shaking. Another day, Another Assignment Due! Soo the latest assignment I finished was a HDR shot of a location of my choice that had a pleasing decor… of course I picked The Common! Doing the actual shooting only took 15mins that consisted of several bracketed shots at f/22 & ISO 100 on a tripod. After that easy part it was time to figure out which bracket shots to use and I finally chose 10 out of 19 shots to use. In CS4 I used layered masks to “brush” in the parts I wanted from each bracketed shot to complete my final product. I’m pretty happy with the outcome… even though I don’t really like HDR shots in the first place BUT I guess if its done right it can look have decent.
