Noms At Sugarbowl

Last night at Sugarbowl, Mariel (Mariel Noms) & I ate and drank some new beers. It was along time since I ate at Sugarbowl, soo I was excited to see whats new in their menu since last time. We ordered Steamed Soy Beans with Sea Salt, Baked Brie/Basil in Phyllo, and Smoked Paprika/Lime Popcorn. For beverages Mariel got the DDC Rosée d’Hibiscus Wheat Beer and I got the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. Both the food & drinks were excellent as always. It’s something about the atmosphere, the people, and the music that makes that place so welcoming…almost homey. If your in Edmonton, do check out this place out!

My lovely date of the night, Mariel.

A Day Through My Eyes

On Saturday I decided to bring my buddy along with me all day…my Canon 50D! I wanted to make it a habit once again to bring my camera along with me anywhere I go just incase that certain photo arrises in my head that I can shoot at an instant. My day consisted of me working at Foosh, eating, visiting Bamboo Ballroom, chilling with friends, eating, and a poker game… Enjoy the photos!

My Night

Yesterday I took out the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L from school to test it out. I THINK I’M IN LOVE…with this lens! Soo crisp even when its wide open at 2.8. I took shot of what I did last night which was working the NAIT print sale, eating at The Common , and to check out the Handmade Mafia event at Savoy for Amor Jewelry.

Cravings

Do you ever get those cravings for food that you know you should not be eating, but you do it anyways? Well today was the day for me. I was craving Kraft Dinner mac & cheese, golden Oreos, and Dr. Pepper. Soo right after work I headed down to a grocery store and bought them, cooked, and ate/drank them all!

SOO GOOD!
Mac & Cheese with Ketchup is the only way.

Potluck

Last night was Lydia’s bi-monthly Potluck with the Foosh/Bamboo Ballroom/The Common family & friends. I love these gatherings because everyone comes to eat good food, drink, and of course me schooling all the oldies in games haha. There were dumplings, spring rolls, lagonisa, tosino, meatballs, pasta, shepherds pie, persian style rice, and much more!… Ohh and raspberry soda was the drink of choice. Can’t wait till the next one!

Lydias AWESOME dumplings!
Some shows Lydia & Rohan played at in their career.
Rohan gaming on COD: MW2 before everyone else comes.
My raspberry soda and one of my MANY plates of food.

4x5 Setups

Today I took shots for school for my critic & image process class with the classic 4x5 View Camera. First I cooked up some sunny side up eggs & bacon with a croissant and a cup of coffee. It was like anytime I have taken a photo of my food… but this time its with a HUGE large format camera instead of my Canon 50D. The second setup was with my OF dissected buddies urning to be the larger one of itself (100% to be 400% to be 1000%) and I did a profile photo of the 1000%. I’m really stoked to see how they turn out tomorrow when I develop/processes the negatives and printing them.

Club or Restaurant?

For my friends birthday, he decided to go to The Cactus Club. I thought they wanted to go to a club I hate clubs in Edmonton BUT it was just a restaurant. Tonight was my first time and I was fairly pleased overall. The enviroment feels like a Joeys/Earls, the food selection was very similar aswell, & the servers…wowzers. haha I had the BBQ Duck Club Sandwich which was decent. The bread that came with it was jam packed with random seeds/fruits and I’m dangerously allergic to sunflower seeds soo had to get it remade with a sour doe bread. Other than that services was excellent. I will definitley come back to try other dishes…mostly for the servers…I LURK too much…
