One of my assignments due this week is a restoration of a old family photograph taken for way back in the day of the good old days of film. I was looking though all my dad’s old family photographs when he was a child… its eerie how much my dad & myself look identical when we were the same age… ANYWHO I chose this photograph of my dad and majority of his siblings all standing in a row. Love the expressions on all of their faces because all of them are true to who they are now. If you have time to restore old family photographs in photoshop, its a great way to give back to your family members of damage photographs from the past.
In this photography I wanted to obviously fix all the imperfections: wrinkles, scratches, splotches, stains, etc. I also wanted to change the tint of the image from a yellow tone to a sepia tone that is more classic and fitting. Lastly I sharpened it a tad to make it stand out more. My dad defiantly loves it and hopefully my uncles & aunt will like it when I give them all 8 x 10 print when I go to the Philippines in April 24th. This restoration took me roughly 4hrs to do fyi!
