There’s One In All Of Us…

I finally watch the only movie I wanted to watch this entire year tonight. Where The WIld Things Are was everything I expected and MORE! Spike Jonze took the right direction on being simplistic to each situation that was going on in the movie. He made us really think about what was really going on with each individual “Monsters” a.k.a. Max’s different emotions throughout the entire movie.

The cinematography was amazing! Spike Jonze use the right colour for the different scenes, compositions of the settings, wide angle shots to make the island/monsters look significantly larger than Max, and a feeling you get when watching the movie as you were a kid again in your own fantasy world. The one thing that this film did for me was that it made me feel like a kid again making forts, having dirt clod fights, and having a limitless imagination.

If you enjoyed the book as a child or you want to feel like a kid once again go and watch this movie. Enjoy the simplicity of the movie because as a child nothing is complicated…remember that! Thank you Maurice Sendak for creating this book & Thank you Spike Jonze for doing the 9 sentence book justice on film.
