Today I finally did some sort of school work during this reading week due to the fact I was working everyday at the shop and I was HELLA lazy this week. I went to Haven, where I am doing my Photo Essay, to do some shots of the interior, product, people shots. After the 3 hour shoot I came out with 5 different concept shots which are still in it’s RAW form. Here are some of the set-ups I did for some of the photos…if you were wondering what lights I was using, they are the mono head Profoto kits. ENJOY!

Capcom has released MORE characters yesterday for Super Street FIghter 4 that includes oldies and new fighters. It is sad to say that MOST people out there don’t know how his legacy he left before he passed… Stussy wanted to inform people. On doing so they made a documentary about the man himself of his uprising in the music game and separated it into a three part documentry. There are several people in it from Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Houseshoes, DJ Rhemattic, Grath Trinidad, J.Rocc, B+, Egon, Frank Nitty, and many others that tells us the story of J Dilla’s history in the music game.

I was very disappointed in a lot of the newer Halo games, BUT Bungie is going back to the roots of telling a story and getting the player more involved in it for Halo: Reach. After watching this video, I fell back in love with the Halo series… can not wait for it!

This is just a small rant for the Critique class in my program… Critique is basically a weekly topic based class that we shoot for and hand in every Thursday. This week we got Critiqued on “Light” and it just seemed that everyone got bashed for being different or TOO simple which we were taught. The critiquer was an outside source in the Photography Market in Edmonton. This person was just seeing our photos if they would see them in a stock website; for those who don’t know what stock photography is, it’s basically a website that has a bunch of photography on stock for business to purchase for their purpose soo really really comercial. This class had no direction on how we should shoot, soo essentially it was for us and not for common market. IN CONCLUSION I’m NOT going to shoot Artistic anymore…just Commercial now due to I dont want to be barely passing the coarse cause I’m shooting Artistic.
*UPDATE Feb12/10*
Just had at to get this out of my system or it would of came out in another shape or form. I WILL still shoot for MYSELF in this course… even it means that each critic does not like it… ALWAYS SHOOT FOR YOURSELF PEOPLE!
Tonight Mariel (Mariel Nom’s) and myself went to the Alberta Art Gallery to check out the awesome exhibits, BUT my favourites was obviously Karsh: Image Maker and the incredible sounds from The Murder of Crows by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller. Karsh ability to create feeling into each portrait he did of many famous people in our time is incredible as well with his talent of lighting his subjects. With the audio presentation of The Murder of Crows was just unreal due to the fact it made you close your eyes and listen to every little sound that was pumping out of the speakers to create an image in your head. Unfortunately I was not able to take in photographs in the Gallery which was understandable SO this means you have to go check it out yourselves…worth going!

Afterwards Mariel and I got REALLY hungry…soo we went to Furusato which is btw the BEST Japanese restaurant in Edmonton! We ordered shrimp/vegetable tempura, assorted sashimi, and of course my favourite the dragon roll bbq eel…soo yummy! Here are the photos from our delicious meal…I know your jealous!
