From The Westside, With Love
One of my favourite lyricis from L.A., Dom Kennedy, has released his 3rd official mixtape “From The Westside, With Love”. This mixtape houses 16 new tracks that are produced by Drew Byrd, BrandUn Deshay, L.A.U.S.D. and Hitboy to name a few. Every time I listen to Dom, I think I am in L.A. rolling down the streets on a skateboard just chilling with my homies while eating In-N-Out...

BBQ Season
Last night me and the miss did our ritual saturday night cooking. Since it was super nice out, we decided to kick off spring time BBQ with burgers & fries! For the burgers I made it with normal ground beef & lean ground beef to balance out the fat content. I added several spices from The Keg steak spice, dry thyme, garlic powder, salt & peper, and oatmeal. Then I added onions, two...

Justeezy x 1hundo
My good friend Justine (Justeezy) does a feature on her friends that she thinks that should be recognized for their talents & as a person overall. She approached me earlier this week asking if I would be willing to answer some questions for her for this feature on her website. I was very honored when she asked me because I think Justine is a very talented lady who always does her own thing and...

Blackberry 24/7
The latests assignment for Photojournalism is photo illustration that we had to pick an article from any newspaper and produce an image that correspondes to that article we chose. Obviously I picked an article that had to do with Blackberry’s and how most people in a work place, mostly men, are soo addicted to their berry’s that they would spend more time on it than actual work. I...

Inspiration Cooking
This past Saturday, me & the miss cooked a delicious dinner that got inspired while we were walking the isles of Superstore… we both love that place! We were walking the vegetable area and saw some fennel and Mariel remembered a recipe that included the fennel, arugula, and prosciutto that was oven roasted with brown sugar. With the salad we just made a simple balsamic, olive oil,...

Restoration
One of my assignments due this week is a restoration of a old family photograph taken for way back in the day of the good old days of film. I was looking though all my dad’s old family photographs when he was a child… its eerie how much my dad & myself look identical when we were the same age… ANYWHO I chose this photograph of my dad and majority of his siblings all standing...

Intimacy
This weeks critique topic is “Intimacy” and it is the last critique for this year… soo happy that I don’t have to worry about this course for the last month of the semester! This one was a really obvious subject matter, and I knew I needed help from the miss… Basically I wanted to show a close up shot without really any background or anything else subtracting from the...

Chocolate Indulging
For one of my assignments for journalism we had to do a small introduction of using a multimedia platform of pictures relating to audio. Of course the first thing that came to mind was doing a timeline of cooking or baking something delicious. Soo Mariel & myself baked the moistest, chocolate-ly, deliciouses cake I’ve ever tasted thus far… no joke! The music chosen to be matched...

Symbolic
This weeks critique topic was “Symbolic”. Being Filippino and having religion as a strong influence in my life I wanted to shoot something in that direction. Thankfully my mom has tons of rosary’s in the house and her holding the rosary as like she was praying. I wanted to get a high ratio from highlight to shadow side because I knew I wanted to convert it into B&W. All said...

Last Sunday I went to Haven to shoot for my Photography Essay course once again. Big up to Dan, Trevor, & Nori for letting me shoot them/bug them for the good 4hrs there. Black & White
This week was HELLA busy with tons of assignments due 7 all togeather. One assignment was a reproduction of a photograph that was taken 1960 or earlier. One Gear Is All You Need
This weeks critique topic was “Bikers” and the first thing that came to mind for me was fixed gear bikes. Soo I borrowed Justin’s bike and stood infront of it with the stereotypical fit that you would think a hipster fixed gear biker would wear. No disrespect to any riders out there.. just in photography you have to be very litteral to those viewers who don’t know anything...

Every Meal
I honestly can eat a sandwich for every meal of the day. Today I was craving a good old croissant sandwich. Soo I took some black forest ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, & fresh cracked peper and went to town on making this AWESOME sandwich. Along side with my sandwich, I had a glass of pomegranate & blueberry juice to get some de-toxins in my body after the weekend. Feels good to...

This weeks Critique topic is “Growth“… first thing that comes to EVERYONES mind is plants, pregnant women, or anything imitating those subject matters. I wanted to do something different… I ended up shooting a roasted chicken along side a 1/2 dozen eggs side by side. I wanted to show the growth the eggs could of had as a chicken BUT could end up roasted and delicious. The...

Free time = More Music
When I have free time before going to school or a photoshoot or work, I like to go to HMV or Blackbyrd to seek new/old music. Today I headed over to West Edmonton Mall’s HMV due to they always have HUGE stock of music. I seeked for a specific album from a new band that I just discovered yesterday on What The Hellz. The band is El Perro Del Mar who have a very similar sounds to Lykke Li whom...
